Dr. Fang Liu has received a Doctoral New Investigator (DNI) grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS) Petroleum Research Fund (PRI). The ACS PRF research grant programs support fundamental research in the petroleum field, and development of the next generation of engineers and scientists through advanced scientific education.
DNI grants, in particular, are offered in support of promising new researchers in the first three years of their independent career. The Liu Group was established at Emory in 2020. Their research program focuses on building computational tools to accelerate the design and discovery of functional molecules.
The Liu Group will use the ACS PRF funds in support of their work “Quantum Chemistry Investigation of the Structure-Fluorescence Relationship for Asphaltene Aggregates.”
