Monika Raj receives American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant

Dr. Monika Raj has received a four-year, $792,000 Research Scholar Grant from the American Cancer Society. The grant will support research focused on discovering new chemical approaches and novel markers for detecting early-stage lung cancer. Monika is an Associate Professor of Chemistry and a member of Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute.

Monika joined the faculty at Emory in 2020 from Auburn University. She has previously received the 2019 NIH MIRA Award, the Early Career Lectureship from APS, and the NSF Career Award, among other honors. She is a council member of the American Peptide Society (2021-2027) and the current Chair of APS Early Career Research Award (2022). 

“My colleague, Monika Raj, is an amazing scientist,” says Dr. Dennis Liotta. “This ACS grant is an appropriate recognition of the excellent work that she and her research group continue to do.”
